Diagnostic Services

Laboratory Testing

Our hospital is equipped with a complete, sophisticated diagnostic laboratory that allows us to measure more than 100 laboratory values, with results often available in a few minutes. In addition, if your pet requires specialized testing, we work with several outside referral labs.

Direct Digital Radiology

When your pet needs X-rays, our goal is to make the process as quick, comfortable, and stress-free as possible. Carmel Valley Veterinary Hospital uses advanced digital radiology equipment that allows our team to capture high-quality images quickly, often with fewer X-rays and less time spent positioning your pet.

Your veterinarian will review the images as part of your pet’s evaluation and discuss the findings and recommended next steps with you. When additional expertise is needed, images can also be submitted to a board-certified veterinary radiologist for review.  With advanced technology and an experienced veterinary team, you can feel confident your pet is receiving thorough, compassionate care close to home.

Ultrasound

When your pet needs a closer look at what’s happening internally, Carmel Valley Veterinary Hospital offers ultrasound imaging as a safe, non-invasive diagnostic option. Ultrasound allows our veterinarians to evaluate internal organs in real time and can provide important information that may not be visible on X-rays alone.

The procedure is painless and can often be performed without sedation. Ultrasound can help our team diagnose a variety of conditions, guide certain biopsies and procedures, and make more informed treatment decisions.  Having ultrasound available at our hospital is especially valuable when time matters. Our veterinarians can quickly gather additional diagnostic information and, when necessary, move directly from diagnosis to treatment or surgery.  Our goal is to provide answers as quickly and comfortably as possible so we can determine the best next steps for your pet.
